Surgical Removal Of Teeth
Removal of teeth may be straightforward and in many cases your dentist will carry out the procedure for you. In some instances, your dentist will refer you to one of our OralMax Surgeons for what may seem like a simple extraction. There may be several reasons for this, including your medical history, the position
of the tooth in relation to other important structures within the jaws (teeth may be impacted), complex root formation of a tooth, or weakened tooth structure that would necessitate a surgical extraction.
You may also be referred to an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in order to have the procedure performed under general anaesthesia or IV sedation if you are anxious about undergoing the procedure awake, or if the tooth is acutely inflamed and could not be sufficiently numbed for you to undergo the extraction awake.
