This procedure may be performed for functional reasons (to improve breathing) and/or cosmetic reasons, in order to re-shape the nose. A rhinoplasty may be performed whilst undergoing other Oral & Maxillofacial procedures in hospital under general anaesthesia.

Most commonly, this procedure is combined with orthognathic (jaw surgery) and would require a minimum of one overnight hospital stay.
